The Role: Primary Teacher (QTS) in Hertfordshire

As a Primary Teacher (QTS), you will work across a range of Mainstream and SEN schools in Hertfordshire, delivering engaging lessons and supporting pupils with diverse learning needs. Opportunities are available on a part time or full time basis to suit your availability.


Key Responsibilities of a Primary Teacher (QTS)

As a Primary Teacher (QTS), your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality lessons aligned with the National Curriculum

  • Adapting teaching strategies to meet the needs of pupils with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties

  • Creating a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment

  • Working collaboratively with SENCOs, Teaching Assistants, and other professionals

  • Assessing pupil progress and adjusting teaching to support individual learning outcomes

  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively and consistently

  • Supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development

  • Upholding safeguarding and child protection policies at all times

This Primary Teacher (QTS) role allows you to build strong relationships with pupils while making a meaningful difference across Hertfordshire schools.


Essential Qualifications & Experience

We are looking for a Primary Teacher (QTS) who meets the following criteria:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential

  • Experience teaching in UK Primary schools

  • Confidence working in Mainstream and/or SEN settings

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

  • A flexible, positive, and proactive approach

  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Previous SEN experience is highly desirable but not essential for the right Primary Teacher (QTS).
