Your Role as a Learning Support Assistant
As a Learning Support Assistant, you’ll work closely with teachers and specialist professionals to provide personalised support throughout the school day.
You’ll help pupils overcome barriers to learning while developing their communication, confidence, independence and social skills.
Your responsibilities could include:
* Providing 1:1, small-group and classroom support
* Helping pupils access an individualised and appropriately adapted curriculum
* Supporting communication, social interaction and emotional regulation
* Working towards individual EHCP outcomes
* Encouraging independence and essential life skills
* Helping pupils build confidence and positive relationships
* Supporting behaviour positively and consistently
* Working alongside teachers, therapists and other SEND professionals
* Supporting pupils during practical, vocational and enrichment activities
* Providing personal care support where required
