About the Setting
This specialist provision in Dorking, Surrey supports boys aged 9-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. A Different Kind of Maths Teacher Role
This Maths Teacher position in Dorking isn’t about standing in front of 30 pupils and delivering the same lesson.
With small teaching groups, you’ll have the opportunity to understand each pupil individually and identify what may be preventing them from progressing.
One pupil may be preparing for a GCSE in Maths, another may be working towards Functional Skills or Entry Level Maths, while another may need significant gaps in their foundational knowledge addressed.
For some pupils, the biggest achievement may initially be developing enough confidence to participate in a Maths lesson.
The right Maths Teacher will understand that within an SEMH environment, academic progress and emotional development often need to happen together.
