Are you a qualified Speech and Language Therapist looking to make a real difference in the lives of young learners? We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join a vibrant primary school in Hounslow, working closely with pupils who have communication and language needs, including those with autism, speech delays, and social interaction challenges.

📍 About the Role – Speech and Language Therapist, Hounslow

  • Location: Hounslow, West London

  • Setting: Mainstream Primary School with a strong SEN focus

  • Start Date: ASAP or September 2025

  • Hours: Full-time (Term time only)

  • Contract: Long-term, with potential to extend or become permanent

As the school’s dedicated Speech and Language Therapist, you’ll work both 1:1 and in small groups with pupils across EYFS to KS2. Your focus will be on improving expressive/receptive language, supporting social communication, and helping teachers embed SALT strategies into classroom practice.


✅ What We’re Looking For:

  • HCPC Registered Speech and Language Therapist (essential)

  • Degree or MSc in Speech and Language Therapy from an HCPC-approved and RCSLT-recognised course

  • Passion for working with children with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN)

  • Experience supporting students with ASD, speech delays, or social communication challenges

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with SENCOs, teachers, parents, and external agencies


💡 Desirable Skills & Training:

  • Makaton, PECS, or AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication) training

  • Familiarity with sensory integration and ASD-focused interventions

  • CPD or experience in supporting dysphagia (not essential for this setting, but desirable)

  • Up-to-date Safeguarding training
