We are currently recruiting for a Teacher to join a specialist education setting in Cranleigh, Surrey. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, resilient and dedicated Teacher who is passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs to achieve their full potential.

This Teacher position in Cranleigh, Surrey offers the opportunity to deliver engaging, personalised learning across a range of key stages while working alongside a skilled multidisciplinary team. The successful Teacher will also take responsibility for a tutor group and contribute to curriculum development within the setting.

The Role

As a Teacher, you will:

  • Plan, deliver and assess high-quality lessons that meet the individual needs of students.

  • Create engaging, differentiated learning experiences that promote progress, confidence and independence.

  • Take responsibility for a tutor group, supporting students’ academic, personal and emotional development.

  • Foster a positive, structured and inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive.

  • Monitor student progress and use assessment to inform future planning and learning outcomes.

  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists, families and other professionals to provide outstanding support.

  • Promote positive behaviour through effective classroom management and personalised strategies.

  • Contribute to curriculum planning, development and the effective use of learning resources.

  • Maintain accurate records and complete all required administrative responsibilities.

  • Attend staff meetings, parent consultations and professional development activities as required.

About You

To be successful in this Teacher role, you will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • A passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs.

  • Excellent communication, organisational and classroom management skills.

  • The ability to differentiate learning to meet a wide range of abilities and learning styles.

  • A collaborative approach to working with colleagues, families and external professionals.

  • A resilient, patient and adaptable attitude.

  • The physical ability to support students across the school site and during off-site educational activities where required.

Previous experience within specialist education, SEN, SEMH or complex needs is desirable but applications from enthusiastic teachers looking to develop within specialist education are also welcomed.
