We are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist education setting in Cranleigh, Surrey. This is an excellent opportunity for a caring, dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs to achieve their full potential.

This Teaching Assistant position in Cranleigh, Surrey involves working alongside the Class Teacher and a multidisciplinary team to support students’ academic, social and emotional development through personalised learning, positive behaviour support and engaging educational activities.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.

• Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce learning and encourage independence.

• Assist with planning and delivering differentiated learning activities.

• Promote students’ wellbeing, confidence and positive behaviour throughout the school day.

• Help create a safe, structured and supportive learning environment.

• Support students during classroom activities, educational visits and community-based learning, including work experience placements, shopping, travel training and leisure activities where appropriate.

• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers.

• Assist with classroom organisation, learning resources and administrative tasks.

• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, care staff and families to achieve the best outcomes for students.

About You

To be successful as a Teaching Assistant, you will have:

• The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• The physical ability to support students across a large site and during off-site educational and community activities.

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Support Worker, Care Assistant or within education or care is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
