Youth Support Worker – Full-Time – Wembley

Do you have experience supporting children who need more than just a lesson plan?

We’re looking for a Youth Support Worker in Wembley to join a supportive specialist school that works with primary-aged children who have social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. These pupils need patience, structure, and a consistent adult who understands how to build trust, manage behaviour and offer guidance – not judgement.

You don’t need to have the job title Youth Support Worker already – but if you’ve worked with primary-aged children in a setting where behaviour, trauma, or emotional needs were at the forefront, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Doing as a Youth Support Worker:

  • Supporting pupils aged 5-11 with emotional regulation, challenging behaviour and trauma-related needs.

  • Helping students feel safe and supported so they can access learning, build resilience, and form positive relationships.

  • Working 1:1 or in small groups, providing tailored interventions throughout the school day.

  • De-escalating behaviour calmly and consistently using trauma-informed strategies.

  • Supporting classroom routines while offering the individualised attention some pupils need to thrive.

  • Being a reliable, compassionate adult figure for children who may not have many.

Who We’re Looking For:

This Youth Support Worker role in Wembley is ideal for someone who has:

  • Experience supporting primary-aged children in schools, care homes, or outreach/youth settings.

  • Worked with children or young people who present challenging behaviour, emotional distress, or have experienced trauma.

  • A calm, confident and empathetic approach, even in high-pressure situations.

  • Experience in any of the following roles: Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, Residential Support Worker, Pastoral Support, Youth Justice or Outreach Worker.

  • Full-time availability (Monday to Friday), term time only.

We’re not looking for a polished CV – we’re looking for someone who truly gets it when it comes to working with vulnerable children.

Why This Youth Support Worker Role in Wembley?

  • Make a real difference in the lives of children who need it most.

  • Join a welcoming, specialist team in a school committed to positive behaviour support.

  • Get paid weekly via PAYE – no umbrella fees or hidden charges.

  • Receive support from your dedicated SENDhelp consultant from day one.

  • Access over 400 FREE online courses to grow your skills in behaviour support, trauma-informed practice and more.

  • Trial days available – come and see if this is the right fit for you before committing.

If you’re ready to step into a Youth Support Worker role in Wembley where your experience, empathy, and resilience will truly be valued – apply today.
